With over 45 applicants from Richmond and Moore county, we could not have done it without the incredible partnership of the scholarship directors at all 4 high schools. In addition, it would not have been possible without the generous and thoughtful donations from our supporters, as well as those that shared our mission with their communities. Because of this support, the Foundation surpassed our initial goals and were able to award 5 total scholarships.
With that, we are pleased to introduce our 2025 Craven Apiary scholarship cohort and learn a little more about them.
2025 Spirit of STEM Recipient
Lauren Brown
Union Pines High School
$3000 scholarship winner
The Spirit of STEM Award honors young women who use their passion for science, technology, engineering, and math to make a meaningful impact beyond the classroom. This award recognizes students who lead with heart—those who uplift others, serve their communities, and use STEM as a tool for change. We celebrate individuals who embody selflessness, innovation, and a deep sense of purpose. They represent the future of STEM—not just as scholars but as change makers.
Lauren embodies all of these - not just by her achievements, but her selflessness, compassion, and the light she brings into every room.
